MEDIAL THIGH LIFT

WHAT IS A MEDIAL THIGH LIFT?

A medial thigh lift is a procedure in which the overall appearance of the thighs is improved by tightening the skin on the upper part of the inner thigh. The most common type of thigh lift is a medial thigh lift. An incision from your groin down near your knee or into the rear of your thigh area is used to address drooping skin in your inner thighs.

WHY OPT FOR A MEDIAL THIGH LIFT?

A medial thigh lift helps to improve the appearance of the thighs and is an effective option for those who have noticed some flabbiness and sagging in the inner thighs. It is often a popular procedure for individuals who have lost significant weight and would like to tighten loose, excess skin and soft tissue.

The procedure is best suited to individuals who are generally healthy and at a stable weight.

WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

A medial thigh lift is performed under general anaesthetic. During the procedure, Dr September will make an incision from the groin to the crease of the buttock. The skin is lifted, and any excess fat and tissue are removed. This helps tighten the skin on the upper part of the inner thigh and improves the contour of the thigh.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Your recovery time will depend on the extent of your procedure, although in most cases, post-operative pain and discomfort should be minimal. Dr September will prescribe medications to ease any discomfort if necessary.

After surgery, you should rest and avoid leg movement as much as possible. You may need to take up to a week off work while you recover. It is normal to experience some bruising and swelling following a medial thigh lift, but this should subside within a month. It is best to avoid very strenuous exercise and heavy lifting until you have completely healed. Dr September will advise you as to when you may resume your normal routine.
