A. LIPOFILLING
WHAT IS LIPOFILLING?
Breast lipofilling refers to a fat transfer technique in which fat is taken from parts of the body and injected into the breasts to enhance their size.
WHY OPT FOR LIPOFILLING?
Lipofilling is a permanent means of breast enlargement, and because the fat is injected into the breasts, the procedure leaves almost no visible scars. The fat transferred into the breasts is completely natural, and there is generally less risk of infection than with the use of breast implants.
WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
There are two stages of the breast lipofilling procedure. First, fat cells are harvested from various parts of the body, including the abdomen, thighs or buttocks. A specialised system is then used to spin the cells, separating the good fat cells from the oils and non-viable cells.
Once the fat cells have been properly prepared, a very fine tube injects them into the breasts.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
It is quite normal to experience some swelling after the procedure, which will subside with time. You may notice some small puncture marks at the crease of the breast, which will heal and fade. You may also see some slight scarring at the site where the fat cells were removed from your body.
B. REDUCTION
WHAT IS A BREAST REDUCTION?
Breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammaplasty, is a procedure in which excess fat, tissue, and skin are removed from the breasts to reduce their size.
WHY OPT FOR A BREAST REDUCTION?
Breast reduction surgery is often an effective option for women who have particularly large breasts and would like to achieve better proportions. Those who experience discomfort due to having large breasts, low self-esteem, or difficulty enjoying physical activities may also be considered the procedure.
WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
During the procedure, Dr September will make an incision around the areola and down each breast through which excess tissue, fat, and skin will be removed. Once the excess tissue has been removed, the breasts will be reshaped, and the areola and nipple will be repositioned. In some cases, liposuction is performed to remove excess fat from the breasts.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
After the procedure is complete, your breasts will be bandaged with gauze, and you may need to wear a surgical bra for support and comfort. Dr September may place tubes at the incision site to drain any excess fluid from the body.
It is quite normal to experience some swelling and bruising following the procedure. Dr September will advise you as to when you may resume your normal activities.
